- 1And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.Καὶ ἀναστὰν ἅπαν τὸ πλῆθος αὐτῶν ἤγαγον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν Πιλᾶτον
- 2And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.ἤρξαντο δὲ κατηγορεῖν αὐτοῦ λέγοντες Τοῦτον εὕραμεν διαστρέφοντα τὸ ἔθνος ⸀ἡμῶν καὶ κωλύοντα ⸂φόρους Καίσαρι⸃ διδόναι ⸀καὶ λέγοντα ⸀αὑτὸν χριστὸν βασιλέα εἶναι

- 5And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.οἱ δὲ ἐπίσχυον λέγοντες ὅτι Ἀνασείει τὸν λαὸν διδάσκων καθ’ ὅλης τῆς Ἰουδαίας ⸀καὶ ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἕως ὧδε
- 6When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.Πιλᾶτος δὲ ⸀ἀκούσας ἐπηρώτησεν εἰ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Γαλιλαῖός ἐστιν
- 7And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.καὶ ἐπιγνοὺς ὅτι ἐκ τῆς ἐξουσίας ἐστὶν ἀνέπεμψεν αὐτὸν πρὸς ὄντα καὶ αὐτὸν ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις ἐν ταύταις ταῖς ἡμέραις

- 16I will therefore chastise him, and release him.παιδεύσας οὖν αὐτὸν ⸀ἀπολύσω
- 17(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)
- 18And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:⸀Ἀνέκραγον δὲ παμπληθεὶ λέγοντες Αἶρε τοῦτον ἀπόλυσον δὲ ἡμῖν ⸀τὸν Βαραββᾶν

- 28But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.στραφεὶς δὲ πρὸς αὐτὰς ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Θυγατέρες μὴ κλαίετε ἐπ’ ἐμέ πλὴν ἐφ’ ἑαυτὰς κλαίετε καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν
- 29For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἔρχονται ἡμέραι ἐν αἷς ἐροῦσιν Μακάριαι αἱ καὶ ⸀αἱ κοιλίαι αἳ οὐκ ἐγέννησαν καὶ μαστοὶ οἳ οὐκ ⸀ἔθρεψαν
- 30Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.τότε ἄρξονται λέγειν τοῖς ὄρεσιν Πέσετε ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς Καλύψατε ἡμᾶς
- 31For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?ὅτι εἰ ἐν ⸀τῷ ὑγρῷ ξύλῳ ταῦτα ποιοῦσιν ἐν τῷ ξηρῷ τί γένηται
- 32And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.Ἤγοντο δὲ καὶ ἕτεροι ⸂κακοῦργοι δύο⸃ σὺν αὐτῷ ἀναιρεθῆναι
- 33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.καὶ ὅτε ⸀ἦλθον ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τὸν καλούμενον Κρανίον ἐκεῖ ἐσταύρωσαν αὐτὸν καὶ τοὺς κακούργους ὃν μὲν ἐκ δεξιῶν ὃν δὲ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν
- 34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.⸂ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἔλεγεν Πάτερ ἄφες αὐτοῖς οὐ γὰρ τί ποιοῦσιν⸃ διαμεριζόμενοι δὲ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ἔβαλον ⸀κλήρους
- 35And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.καὶ εἱστήκει ὁ λαὸς θεωρῶν ἐξεμυκτήριζον δὲ καὶ οἱ ⸀ἄρχοντες λέγοντες Ἄλλους ἑαυτόν εἰ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστὸς ⸂τοῦ θεοῦ ὁ⸃ ἐκλεκτός
- 36And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,⸀ἐνέπαιξαν δὲ αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ στρατιῶται προσερχόμενοι ⸀ὄξος προσφέροντες αὐτῷ
- 37And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.καὶ λέγοντες Εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων σεαυτόν
- 38And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.ἦν δὲ καὶ ⸀ἐπιγραφὴ ἐπ’ ⸀αὐτῷ Ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων ⸀οὗτος
