Three Propositions

Before going to sleep each night, mentally revise any unlovely or vexing events of the day. Rewrite the 'play' of the day's events to conform to the ideal experience you wish you had, resolving all troubles and vexations in your imagination.

Did you last night allow the sun to descend upon your wrath? Did you sleep last night with any trouble, any vexation unresolved? Or did you last night truly go to bed having resolved every vexation and trouble of the day? All the little problems, each one must be resolved, you rewrite the play. If you didn't rewrite yesterday's events and make them conform to the ideal you wish you had experienced, then you heard but you aren't a doer.

This daily practice prevents negative states from being carried into sleep and subsequently manifesting. By revising the day, you impress your subconscious with a desired reality, ensuring that you are a 'doer' of the word, not just a 'hearer'.

The Law And The Promise

Revision is the practice of mentally replaying past undesirable events in imagination, altering them to conform to one's ideal. This act 'destroys the causes of evil' by changing the content of the past, which in turn alters the present and future.

Man must go back in memory, seek for and destroy the causes of evil, however far back they lie. This going into the past and replaying a scene of the past in imagination as it ought to have been played the first time, I call revision—and revision results in repeal. Changing your life means changing the past. The causes of any present evil are the unrevised scenes of the past. The past and the present form the whole structure of man; they are carrying all of its contents with it. Any alteration of content will result in an alteration in the present and future.

Revision is a powerful technique for transforming one's life by addressing the root causes of present problems, which are identified as unrevised past scenes. By imaginatively rewriting the past, one changes the entire structure of one's reality.
