Step by step
- 1. Clearly define what you want to be or what you desire to experience.
- 2. Assume the feeling and conviction that you already are that person or that your desire is already fulfilled.
- 3. Persist in this assumption, undeviatingly, regardless of external circumstances or sensory evidence.
- 4. Understand that your imagination (Christ in you) will bring this assumption to pass.
- Dare to imagine and assume you are the person you would like to be.
- Persist in this assumption, even if your reasonable mind and outer senses deny it.
- Continue until the assumption is received and objectively realized.
- Dare to assume that I am the man that I would like to be.
- Continue in the assumption that I am it until that which I have assumed is objectively realized.
- Bear down on it, and dare to sleep in that assumption just as though it were true.
- Don’t give it any time (meaning, don't impose a human timeline, just persist).
- Identify a desired state or outcome.
- Formulate an assumption that you are already experiencing this state, even if it feels untrue.
- Persistently dwell in this assumption, feeling its reality.
- Maintain this mental state until it hardens into fact.

A Lesson In Scripture
To manifest any desire, persistently assume that you already are the person you want to be or that your desires are already fulfilled. This involves an 'undeviating persistence' in the feeling and conviction of the wish fulfilled, regardless of external circumstances.
The story of Jesus is a persistent assumption that you are what you want to be, that things are as you desire them to be. ... The story of Jesus is a complete and undeviating persistence in the assumption that you are what you want to be. If you haven’t experienced wealth and that is what you want, persistently assume ‘I am wealthy.’ If you have not experienced fame, assume you are famous, but ‘The day will come,’ saith the Lord ‘when I will send a famine upon you. It will not be a hunger for bread or a thirst for water, but for the hearing of my Word.’ If that hunger hasn’t come to you, then take the same story of Jesus and fulfill your every desire. ... His law is simply a persistent assumption in the claim: ‘I am what I want to be.’
The 'story of Jesus' is a metaphor for the spiritual law of persistent assumption, where one's imagination (Christ in you) brings about the desired state. This technique is applicable to all worldly desires until a higher hunger for the Word of God emerges.
Persistent Assumption
The technique involves daring to assume the identity of the person one wishes to be, and then persisting in that assumption despite any denials from the rational mind or physical senses, with the promise that persistence will lead to the realization of the assumption.
Daring to assume that all things are possible to imagine, put this one reality to the extreme test by assuming you are the person you would like to be. Your reasonable mind and outer senses may deny it; but I promise you: if you will persist, you will receive your assumption.
This is a fundamental technique where the power of imagination is tested by consistently holding the feeling of the wish fulfilled, overriding sensory evidence until the assumed state hardens into fact.
Persistent Assumption 2
To achieve a desired state, one must dare to assume they are already that person, persist in this assumption despite contradictory evidence from reason and senses, and continue until the assumption is objectively realized in the physical world. This includes sleeping in the feeling of the wish fulfilled without imposing a human timeline.
I will dare to assume that I am the man that I would like to be. At the moment, reason denies it, my senses deny it; but I will dare to assume that I am it. ... So, within my own being, I am assuming that I have received exactly what I need. ... I have assumed that I am the one that I want to be. I am still assuming that I am it, and I will continue to assume that I am it until that which I have assumed is objectively realized” – and don’t give it any time on this level. Just bear down on it, and dare to sleep in that assumption just as though it were true. Don’t give it any time.
This technique is the practical application of the truth that one's imagination is God, and by persistently identifying with the desired state, one compels reality to conform to that inner conviction.
Seek The Kingdom
Formulate an assumption, even if it contradicts current external reality ("though false"). Persistently maintain this assumption in your imagination and consciousness. Through this persistence, the assumption will solidify and manifest as a fact in your outer world.
The child was hungry. Having entered the world of experience, he learned how to use the creative power of his own wonderful human imagination. ... applying this simple principle that an assumption, though false, if persistent in will harden into fact.
This is the fundamental law of creation: imagination, when persistently applied through assumption, has the power to transform subjective states into objective realities, regardless of initial conditions.
