Step by step
- Set yourself to observe how your imagination works, particularly your habitual thoughts, feelings, and moods concerning others.
- Identify any unlovely or critical habits of imagination.
- Consciously begin to change these thoughts, feelings, and moods to be loving and praiseworthy towards others ('feed my sheep').
- Recognize that by changing these inner reactions, you are changing the structure of your imagination (the 'Son of God').
- Expect corresponding positive changes to automatically appear in your outer world.

The Power Of Awareness
Observe your imagination and its habitual patterns, especially regarding thoughts, feelings, and moods about others. If you dislike your outer world, which is caused by the 'inner man' (imagination), change its structure by consciously altering your reactions and thoughts towards others, 'feeding your sheep' with loving imagination.
So I set myself to observe myself and to watch how my imagination works. And here is something that will interest you. I observe it always moves according to habit; that it is a being of habit, and so if I get into the habit of thinking the unlovely thoughts, it becomes very natural, so I listen only to that which is critical of another. I listen only to that which is not full of praise, that which judges harshly, and so according to habit it moves along these pathways. Now, if I don't like the outer world, and I really believe it is caused by the structure of the inner or second man, I then must change his likeness, change his form, by observing how I react to all the unlovely, and how I am not interested in the praise of another, and then begin to feed my sheep, begin to change my thoughts, my feelings, my moods concerning others, and as I begin to change my reactions to people, I find I am changing the structure of the Son of God. And then I automatically produce corresponding changes in my outer world.
This technique involves self-observation to identify negative imaginative habits. By consciously shifting these habits to loving thoughts and reactions towards others, one changes the inner structure of their imagination (the 'Son of God'), which then automatically produces corresponding positive changes in the outer world.
