Feasting on the Bread and Wine (Unconditional Forgiveness)

This technique involves practicing unconditional forgiveness by mentally distinguishing between an individual's true, unblemished being (God) and the…

Step by step

  1. Identify someone you perceive as an 'enemy' or in an unlovely state.
  2. Consciously distinguish between the individual (who is God) and the temporary, undesirable state they are occupying.
  3. Mentally bring this individual before your mind's eye.
  4. Imaginatively embrace them, feeling the reality of them being in a nobler, more desirable state (e.g., as a friend, healthy, successful).
  5. Persist in this mental embrace and the feeling of their redeemed state, thereby 'pulling them out' of their former state.

The Bread And The Wine

This technique involves practicing unconditional forgiveness by mentally distinguishing between an individual's true, unblemished being (God) and the temporary, unlovely state they are occupying. It requires mentally embracing the individual and imaginatively moving them into a nobler, more desirable state.

So if I know how to eat of that bread and drink of that wine I am forgiving every person in the world. But I cannot do it unless I see and understand the difference between an individual and the state the individual is occupying. If I condemn a man, or a society, or a thing and I do not understand that they are only states, I am condemning [them]. Only when I begin to distinguish between the state and the individual can I forgive. Then I can take the most horrible beast in the world and embrace him. He might in this present state be my worst enemy, but if I know he is only in a state, I can take him mentally and embrace him and pull him out of that state into which he has fallen and put him into a nobler state. And that is the “point of mutual forgiveness between enemies, the birthplace [of] the Lamb of God.”

This is a higher spiritual practice leading to the 'birth of the Lamb of God' and spiritual awakening. It transcends mere material manifestation by focusing on the redemption of others through imaginative love and understanding that all are God in various states. It opens the 'Western Gate' of touch.
