A Movement Of Mind
This age is one of motion and violence, turbulence and storms, as the dreamer in men is sound asleep and does not know that he is God. ... While occupying his dream God has the sensation of travel, motion and violence; but when he awakes he will find himself in the sepulcher, the skull of Man, where he deliberately laid himself down to sleep and was buried. This entire experience of life, with its motion and violence, is a divine dream, designed for the ultimate purpose of man realizing his identity as God.
The Crucifixion

God's 'sleep' within man is the state of forgetting His divine identity, during which He dreams Himself to be man. Man's existence in this world is a manifestation of God's dream, and awakening is a sudden, emotional realization of this truth.
