Where Are You Staying

It may come as a shock to you, but it comes as a shock to everyone of us raised in the Jewish-Christian faith. I was raised in the Christian faith. Those who were raised in the Jewish faith, one day they will hear the same story, for Christianity is nothing more than the fulfillment of Judaism. It’s the complete flower – the fulfillment, all adumbrated in the Old and fulfilled in the New. But man has taken these personifications for persons. They are not persons. Your reality is your own wonderful human imagination. ... I find in Scripture confirmation of all that I am talking about. But, you see, the Bible is written, not as secular history, but the world has taken it as secular history. It’s not secular history; it’s salvation history. The Old Testament is an adumbration; it’s a foreshadowing of God’s plan of redemption, but man has completely mistaken these characters for persons. Why, they are simply personifications of these eternal states.

Christianity is the fulfillment of Judaism, representing the complete unfolding of God's plan of redemption foreshadowed in the Old Testament. The Bible is not secular history but 'salvation history,' where characters are personifications of eternal states of consciousness, not literal persons. Man's reality is his own imagination, which is the Christ of Scripture.
