Song of Solomon 3 original-language research
The Hebrew lines shown beneath the KJV text come from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) data in YHWSA. The chapter vocabulary below is ranked from verse-level Strong's tagging; grammatical particles are omitted so meaningful terms remain visible.
to search out (by any method, specifically in worship or prayer); by implication, to strive after
to have affection for (sexually or otherwise)
properly, to come forth to, i.e., appear or exist; transitively, to attain, i.e., find or acquire; figuratively, to occur, meet or be present
properly, a breathing creature, i.e., animal of (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental)
a daughter (used in the same wide sense as other terms of relationship, literally and figuratively)
as far (or long, or much) as, whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while, until) or degree (equally with)
Shelomah, David's successor
powerful; by implication, warrior, tyrant
love
to seize (often with the accessory idea of holding in possession)
Hebrew verse gematria
YHWSA calculates these totals directly from every consonant in the tagged Hebrew source line using the Carlo Suarès letter-number system; vowel points and cantillation marks do not add values. The totals are not reverse-mapped from English. A matching number is a comparison to investigate, not proof that two passages mean the same thing.
Lexical definitions describe possible word ranges, not automatic interpretations of a verse. See the concordance guide, gematria method, and source policy.
