Psalm 50 original-language research
The Hebrew lines shown beneath the KJV text come from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) data in YHWSA. The chapter vocabulary below is ranked from verse-level Strong's tagging; grammatical particles are omitted so meaningful terms remain visible.
gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative
perhaps properly, to arrange; but used figuratively (of words), to speak; rarely (in a destructive sense) to subdue
(by implication) very widely used as a relative conjunction or adverb (as below); often largely modified by other particles annexed
to call out to (i.e., properly, address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications)
a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh)
to slaughter an animal (usually in sacrifice)
properly, a slaughter, i.e., the flesh of an animal; by implication, a sacrifice (the victim or the act)
to scratch, i.e., (by implication) to engrave, plough; hence (from the use of tools) to fabricate (of any material); figuratively, to devise (in a bad sense); hence (from the idea of secrecy) to be silent, to let alone; hence (by implication) to be deaf (as an accompaniment of dumbness)
to be right (i.e., correct); reciprocal, to argue; causatively, to decide, justify or convict
to be heavy, i.e., in a bad sense (burdensome, severe, dull) or in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable); causatively, to make weighty (in the same two senses)
Hebrew verse gematria
YHWSA calculates these totals directly from every consonant in the tagged Hebrew source line using the Carlo Suarès letter-number system; vowel points and cantillation marks do not add values. The totals are not reverse-mapped from English. A matching number is a comparison to investigate, not proof that two passages mean the same thing.
