- 3And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;Ἰούδας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν καὶ τὸν ἐκ τῆς δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀράμ
- 4And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;Ἀρὰμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀμιναδάβ Ἀμιναδὰβ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ναασσών Ναασσὼν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαλμών
- 5And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;Σαλμὼν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν ἐκ τῆς Ῥαχάβ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν ἐκ τῆς Ῥούθ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰεσσαί
- 6And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;Ἰεσσαὶ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν τὸν βασιλέα ⸀δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σολομῶνα ἐκ τῆς τοῦ Οὐρίου
- 7And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;Σολομὼν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ῥοβοάμ Ῥοβοὰμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀβιά Ἀβιὰ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν
- 8And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσαφάτ Ἰωσαφὰτ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωράμ Ἰωρὰμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ὀζίαν
- 9And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;Ὀζίας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀχάζ Ἀχὰζ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν
- 10And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Μανασσῆ Μανασσῆς δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν ⸂Ἀμώς Ἀμὼς⸃ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσίαν
- 11And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:Ἰωσίας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰεχονίαν καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος
- 12And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;Μετὰ δὲ τὴν μετοικεσίαν Βαβυλῶνος Ἰεχονίας ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαλαθιήλ Σαλαθιὴλ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν
- 13And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀβιούδ Ἀβιοὺδ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀζώρ

- 16And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.Ἰακὼβ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσὴφ τὸν ἄνδρα Μαρίας ἐξ ἧς ἐγεννήθη Ἰησοῦς ὁ λεγόμενος χριστός
- 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.Πᾶσαι οὖν αἱ γενεαὶ ἀπὸ Ἀβραὰμ ἕως γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες καὶ ἀπὸ ἕως τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος ἕως τοῦ χριστοῦ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες
- 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.Τοῦ δὲ ⸀Ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ ἡ ⸀γένεσις ἦν τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Μαρίας τῷ Ἰωσήφ πρὶν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτοὺς εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου
- 19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς δίκαιος ὢν καὶ μὴ θέλων αὐτὴν ⸀δειγματίσαι ἐβουλήθη ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν
- 20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.ταῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐνθυμηθέντος ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος κυρίου κατ’ ὄναρ ἐφάνη αὐτῷ λέγων Ἰωσὴφ υἱὸς μὴ παραλαβεῖν ⸀Μαρίαν τὴν γυναῖκά σου τὸ γὰρ ἐν αὐτῇ γεννηθὲν ἐκ πνεύματός ἐστιν ἁγίου
- 21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.τέξεται δὲ υἱὸν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν αὐτὸς γὰρ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν
- 22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,τοῦτο δὲ ὅλον γέγονεν ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν ⸀ὑπὸ κυρίου διὰ τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος
- 23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.Ἰδοὺ ἡ παρθένος ἐν γαστρὶ ἕξει καὶ τέξεται υἱόν καὶ καλέσουσιν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἐμμανουήλ ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον Μεθ’ ἡμῶν ὁ θεός
- 24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:⸀ἐγερθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕπνου ἐποίησεν ὡς προσέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ παρέλαβεν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ
- 25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.καὶ οὐκ ἐγίνωσκεν αὐτὴν ἕως οὗ ἔτεκεν ⸀υἱόν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν
