  1. 1After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.Ἦν δὲ τὸ πάσχα καὶ τὰ ἄζυμα μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας καὶ ἐζήτουν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς πῶς αὐτὸν ἐν δόλῳ κρατήσαντες ἀποκτείνωσιν
  2. 2But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.ἔλεγον ⸀γάρ Μὴ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ μήποτε ⸂ἔσται θόρυβος⸃ τοῦ λαοῦ
  3. 3And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.Καὶ ὄντος αὐτοῦ ἐν Βηθανίᾳ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ Σίμωνος τοῦ λεπροῦ κατακειμένου αὐτοῦ ἦλθεν γυνὴ ἔχουσα μύρου νάρδου πιστικῆς πολυτελοῦς ⸀συντρίψασα ⸀τὴν κατέχεεν ⸀αὐτοῦ τῆς κεφαλῆς
  4. 4And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?ἦσαν δέ ἀγανακτοῦντες πρὸς ⸀ἑαυτούς Εἰς τί ἡ ἀπώλεια αὕτη τοῦ μύρου γέγονεν
  5. 5For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.ἠδύνατο γὰρ τοῦτο ⸂τὸ μύρον⸃ πραθῆναι ἐπάνω ⸂δηναρίων τριακοσίων⸃ καὶ δοθῆναι τοῖς πτωχοῖς καὶ ἐνεβριμῶντο αὐτῇ
  6. 6And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἄφετε αὐτήν τί αὐτῇ κόπους παρέχετε καλὸν ἔργον ἠργάσατο ἐν ἐμοί
  7. 7For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.πάντοτε γὰρ τοὺς πτωχοὺς ἔχετε μεθ’ ἑαυτῶν καὶ ὅταν θέλητε δύνασθε ⸀αὐτοῖς εὖ ποιῆσαι ἐμὲ δὲ οὐ πάντοτε ἔχετε
  8. 8She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.ὃ ⸀ἔσχεν ἐποίησεν προέλαβεν μυρίσαι ⸂τὸ σῶμά μου⸃ εἰς τὸν ἐνταφιασμόν
  9. 9Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.ἀμὴν ⸀δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅπου ⸀ἐὰν κηρυχθῇ τὸ ⸀εὐαγγέλιον εἰς ὅλον τὸν κόσμον καὶ ὃ ἐποίησεν αὕτη λαληθήσεται εἰς μνημόσυνον αὐτῆς
  10. 10And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.⸀Καὶ Ἰούδας ὁ⸃ εἷς τῶν δώδεκα ἀπῆλθεν πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς ἵνα αὐτὸν ⸂παραδοῖ αὐτοῖς⸃
  11. 11And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες ἐχάρησαν καὶ αὐτῷ ἀργύριον δοῦναι καὶ ἐζήτει πῶς ⸂αὐτὸν εὐκαίρως παραδοῖ⸃
  12. 12And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?Καὶ τῇ πρώτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν ἀζύμων ὅτε τὸ πάσχα ἔθυον λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ Ποῦ θέλεις ἀπελθόντες ἑτοιμάσωμεν ἵνα φάγῃς τὸ πάσχα
  13. 13And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.καὶ ἀποστέλλει δύο τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Ὑπάγετε εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἀπαντήσει ὑμῖν ἄνθρωπος κεράμιον ὕδατος βαστάζων ἀκολουθήσατε αὐτῷ
  14. 14And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?καὶ ὅπου ⸀ἐὰν εἰσέλθῃ εἴπατε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ ὅτι Ὁ διδάσκαλος λέγει Ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ κατάλυμά ⸀μου ὅπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγω
  15. 15And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.καὶ αὐτὸς ὑμῖν μέγα ἐστρωμένον ἕτοιμον ⸀καὶ ἐκεῖ ἑτοιμάσατε ἡμῖν
  16. 16And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.καὶ ἐξῆλθον οἱ ⸀μαθηταὶ καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ εὗρον καθὼς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὸ πάσχα
  17. 17And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.Καὶ γενομένης ἔρχεται μετὰ τῶν δώδεκα
  18. 18And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.καὶ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐσθιόντων ⸂ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν⸃ Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με ὁ ἐσθίων μετ’ ἐμοῦ
  19. 19And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?⸀ἤρξαντο λυπεῖσθαι καὶ λέγειν αὐτῷ εἷς κατὰ εἷς Μήτι ⸀ἐγώ
  20. 20And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.ὁ ⸀δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ⸀Εἷς τῶν δώδεκα ὁ ἐμβαπτόμενος μετ’ ἐμοῦ εἰς ⸀τὸ τρύβλιον
  21. 21The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.⸀ὅτι ὁ μὲν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται περὶ αὐτοῦ οὐαὶ δὲ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι’ οὗ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται ⸀καλὸν αὐτῷ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος
  22. 22And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.Καὶ ἐσθιόντων αὐτῶν ⸀λαβὼν ἄρτον εὐλογήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν ⸀Λάβετε τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου
  23. 23And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.καὶ ⸀λαβὼν ποτήριον εὐχαριστήσας ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἔπιον ἐξ αὐτοῦ πάντες
  24. 24And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ αἷμά μου ⸀τῆς διαθήκης τὸ ⸂ἐκχυννόμενον ὑπὲρ πολλῶν⸃
  25. 25Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ πίω ἐκ τοῦ τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης ὅταν αὐτὸ πίνω καινὸν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ
  26. 26And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.Καὶ ὑμνήσαντες ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ Ὄρος τῶν Ἐλαιῶν
  27. 27And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.Καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι Πάντες ⸀σκανδαλισθήσεσθε ὅτι γέγραπται Πατάξω τὸν ποιμένα καὶ ⸂τὰ πρόβατα διασκορπισθήσονται⸃
  28. 28But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.ἀλλὰ μετὰ τὸ ἐγερθῆναί με προάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν
  29. 29But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἔφη αὐτῷ ⸂Εἰ καὶ⸃ πάντες σκανδαλισθήσονται ἀλλ’ οὐκ ἐγώ
  30. 30And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι σὺ σήμερον ⸂ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ⸃ πρὶν ἢ δὶς ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρίς ⸂με ἀπαρνήσῃ⸃
  31. 31But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.ὁ δὲ ἐλάλει⸃ Ἐὰν ⸂δέῃ με⸃ σοι οὐ μή σε ⸀ἀπαρνήσομαι ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ πάντες ἔλεγον
  32. 32And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς χωρίον οὗ τὸ ὄνομα καὶ λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ Καθίσατε ὧδε ἕως προσεύξωμαι
  33. 33And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;καὶ παραλαμβάνει τὸν Πέτρον καὶ ⸂Ἰάκωβον καὶ⸃ Ἰωάννην μετ’ ⸀αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤρξατο καὶ ἀδημονεῖν
  34. 34And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Περίλυπός ἐστιν ἡ ψυχή μου ἕως θανάτου μείνατε ὧδε καὶ
  35. 35And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.καὶ ⸂προελθὼν μικρὸν ἔπιπτεν⸃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ προσηύχετο ἵνα εἰ δυνατόν ἐστιν παρέλθῃ ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἡ ὥρα
  36. 36And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.καὶ ἔλεγεν ὁ πατήρ πάντα δυνατά σοι παρένεγκε τὸ ποτήριον ⸂τοῦτο ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ⸃ ἀλλ’ οὐ τί ἐγὼ θέλω ἀλλὰ τί σύ
  37. 37And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?καὶ ἔρχεται καὶ εὑρίσκει αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας καὶ λέγει τῷ Πέτρῳ Σίμων καθεύδεις οὐκ ἴσχυσας μίαν ὥραν
  38. 38Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.καὶ προσεύχεσθε ἵνα μὴ ⸀ἔλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν τὸ μὲν πνεῦμα πρόθυμον ἡ δὲ σὰρξ ἀσθενής
  39. 39And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.καὶ πάλιν ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο τὸν αὐτὸν λόγον εἰπών
  40. 40And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.καὶ ⸂πάλιν ἐλθὼν εὗρεν αὐτοὺς⸃ καθεύδοντας ἦσαν γὰρ ⸂αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ⸃ καὶ οὐκ τί ⸂ἀποκριθῶσιν αὐτῷ⸃
  41. 41And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.καὶ ἔρχεται τὸ τρίτον καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Καθεύδετε ⸀τὸ καὶ ἀναπαύεσθε ἀπέχει ἦλθεν ἡ ὥρα ἰδοὺ παραδίδοται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰς τὰς χεῖρας τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν
  42. 42Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.ἐγείρεσθε ἄγωμεν ἰδοὺ ὁ παραδιδούς με ἤγγικεν
  43. 43And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.Καὶ ⸀εὐθὺς ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος παραγίνεται ⸀Ἰούδας ⸀εἷς τῶν δώδεκα καὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ⸀ὄχλος μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων παρὰ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων
  44. 44And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.δεδώκει δὲ ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν σύσσημον αὐτοῖς λέγων Ὃν ἂν φιλήσω αὐτός ἐστιν κρατήσατε αὐτὸν καὶ ⸀ἀπάγετε ἀσφαλῶς
  45. 45And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.καὶ ἐλθὼν ⸀εὐθὺς προσελθὼν αὐτῷ λέγει ⸀Ῥαββί καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν
  46. 46And they laid their hands on him, and took him.οἱ δὲ ἐπέβαλαν ⸂τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῷ⸃ καὶ ἐκράτησαν αὐτόν
  47. 47And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.εἷς δέ τῶν παρεστηκότων τὴν μάχαιραν ἔπαισεν τὸν δοῦλον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως καὶ ἀφεῖλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ
  48. 48And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων συλλαβεῖν με
  49. 49I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.καθ’ ἡμέραν ἤμην πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ διδάσκων καὶ οὐκ ἐκρατήσατέ με ἀλλ’ ἵνα πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαί
  50. 50And they all forsook him, and fled.καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ⸂ἔφυγον πάντες⸃
  51. 51And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:Καὶ ⸂νεανίσκος ⸀συνηκολούθει αὐτῷ περιβεβλημένος σινδόνα ἐπὶ γυμνοῦ καὶ κρατοῦσιν ⸀αὐτόν
  52. 52And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.ὁ δὲ καταλιπὼν τὴν σινδόνα γυμνὸς ⸀ἔφυγεν
  53. 53And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.Καὶ ἀπήγαγον τὸν Ἰησοῦν πρὸς τὸν ἀρχιερέα καὶ ⸀συνέρχονται πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς
  54. 54And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.καὶ ὁ Πέτρος ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ ἕως ἔσω εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως καὶ ἦν συγκαθήμενος μετὰ τῶν ὑπηρετῶν καὶ πρὸς τὸ φῶς
  55. 55And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον ἐζήτουν κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ μαρτυρίαν εἰς τὸ θανατῶσαι αὐτόν καὶ οὐχ ηὕρισκον
  56. 56For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.πολλοὶ γὰρ ἐψευδομαρτύρουν κατ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἴσαι αἱ μαρτυρίαι οὐκ ἦσαν
  57. 57And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,καί ἀναστάντες ἐψευδομαρτύρουν κατ’ αὐτοῦ λέγοντες
  58. 58We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.ὅτι Ἡμεῖς ἠκούσαμεν αὐτοῦ λέγοντος ὅτι Ἐγὼ καταλύσω τὸν ναὸν τοῦτον τὸν χειροποίητον καὶ διὰ τριῶν ἡμερῶν ἄλλον ἀχειροποίητον οἰκοδομήσω
  59. 59But neither so did their witness agree together.καὶ οὐδὲ ἴση ἦν ἡ μαρτυρία αὐτῶν
  60. 60And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς μέσον ἐπηρώτησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν λέγων Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν
  61. 61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?ὁ δὲ ἐσιώπα καὶ ⸂οὐκ ἀπεκρίνατο οὐδέν⸃ πάλιν ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ εὐλογητοῦ
  62. 62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκ δεξιῶν καθήμενον τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐρχόμενον μετὰ τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
  63. 63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?ὁ δὲ ἀρχιερεὺς τοὺς χιτῶνας αὐτοῦ λέγει Τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχομεν μαρτύρων
  64. 64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.ἠκούσατε τῆς βλασφημίας τί ὑμῖν φαίνεται οἱ δὲ πάντες κατέκριναν αὐτὸν ⸂ἔνοχον εἶναι⸃ θανάτου
  65. 65And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.καὶ ἤρξαντό ἐμπτύειν αὐτῷ καὶ περικαλύπτειν ⸂αὐτοῦ τὸ πρόσωπον⸃ καὶ κολαφίζειν αὐτὸν καὶ λέγειν αὐτῷ Προφήτευσον καὶ οἱ ὑπηρέται ῥαπίσμασιν αὐτὸν ⸀ἔλαβον
  66. 66And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:Καὶ ὄντος τοῦ Πέτρου ⸂κάτω ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ⸃ ἔρχεται μία τῶν παιδισκῶν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως
  67. 67And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.καὶ ἰδοῦσα τὸν Πέτρον ἐμβλέψασα αὐτῷ λέγει Καὶ σὺ μετὰ τοῦ Ναζαρηνοῦ ⸂ἦσθα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ⸃
  68. 68But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο λέγων ⸂Οὔτε οὔτε ἐπίσταμαι σὺ τί⸃ λέγεις καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἔξω εἰς τὸ προαύλιον ⸂καὶ ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησεν⸃
  69. 69And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη ἰδοῦσα αὐτὸν ⸂ἤρξατο πάλιν⸃ λέγειν τοῖς ⸀παρεστῶσιν ὅτι Οὗτος ἐξ αὐτῶν ἐστιν
  70. 70And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.ὁ δὲ πάλιν ἠρνεῖτο καὶ μετὰ μικρὸν πάλιν οἱ παρεστῶτες ἔλεγον τῷ Πέτρῳ Ἀληθῶς ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ καὶ γὰρ Γαλιλαῖος εἶ ⸂καὶ ἡ λαλιά σου ὁμοιάζει⸃
