- 1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,וַ֭יַּעַן בִּלְדַּ֥ד הַשּׁוּחִ֗י וַיֹאמַֽר
- 2How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?עַד אָ֥ן תְּמַלֶּל אֵ֑לֶּה וְר֥וּחַ כַּ֝בִּיר אִמְרֵי פִֽיךָ
- 3Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?הַ֭אֵל יְעַוֵּ֣ת מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וְאִם שַׁ֝דַּ֗י יְעַוֵּֽת צֶֽדֶק
- 4If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;אִם בָּנֶ֥יךָ חָֽטְאוּ וַֽ֝יְשַׁלְּחֵ֗ם בְּיַד פִּשְׁעָֽם
- 5If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;אִם אַ֭תָּה תְּשַׁחֵ֣ר אֶל אֵ֑ל וְאֶל שַׁ֝דַּ֗י תִּתְחַנָּֽן
- 6If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.אִם זַ֥ךְ וְיָשָׁ֗ר אָ֥תָּה כִּי עַ֭תָּה יָעִ֣יר עָלֶ֑יךָ וְ֝שִׁלַּ֗ם נְוַ֣ת צִדְקֶֽךָ
- 7Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.וְהָיָ֣ה רֵאשִׁיתְךָ֣ מִצְעָ֑ר וְ֝אַחֲרִיתְךָ֗ יִשְׂגֶּ֥ה מְאֹֽד
- 8For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:כִּֽי שְׁאַל נָ֭א לְדֹ֣ר רִישׁ֑וֹן וְ֝כוֹנֵ֗ן לְחֵ֣קֶר אֲבוֹתָֽם
- 9(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)כִּֽי תְמ֣וֹל אֲ֭נַחְנוּ וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע כִּ֤י צֵ֖ל יָמֵ֣ינוּ עֲלֵי אָֽרֶץ

- 11Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?הֲיִֽגְאֶה גֹּ֭מֶא בְּלֹ֣א בִצָּ֑ה יִשְׂגֶּה אָ֥חוּ בְלִי מָֽיִם
- 12Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.עֹדֶ֣נּוּ בְ֭אִבּוֹ לֹ֣א יִקָּטֵ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֖י כָל חָצִ֣יר יִיבָֽשׁ
- 13So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:כֵּ֗ן אָ֭רְחוֹת כָּל שֹׁ֣כְחֵי אֵ֑ל וְתִקְוַ֖ת חָנֵ֣ף תֹּאבֵֽד
- 14Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.אֲשֶׁר יָק֥וֹט כִּסְל֑וֹ וּבֵ֥ית עַ֝כָּבִ֗ישׁ מִבְטַחֽוֹ
- 15He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.יִשָּׁעֵ֣ן עַל בֵּ֭יתוֹ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֑ד יַחֲזִ֥יק וְלֹ֣א יָקֽוּם
