  1. 1Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;Ὅθεν ἀδελφοὶ ἅγιοι κλήσεως ἐπουρανίου μέτοχοι κατανοήσατε τὸν ἀπόστολον καὶ ἀρχιερέα τῆς ὁμολογίας ἡμῶν ⸀Ἰησοῦν
  2. 2Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.πιστὸν ὄντα τῷ ποιήσαντι αὐτὸν ὡς καὶ ⸀ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ
  3. 3For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.πλείονος γὰρ ⸂οὗτος δόξης⸃ παρὰ ἠξίωται καθ’ ὅσον πλείονα τιμὴν ἔχει τοῦ οἴκου ὁ κατασκευάσας αὐτόν
  4. 4For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.πᾶς γὰρ οἶκος κατασκευάζεται ὑπό ὁ ⸀δὲ πάντα κατασκευάσας θεός
  5. 5And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;καὶ μὲν πιστὸς ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ ὡς θεράπων εἰς μαρτύριον τῶν λαληθησομένων
  6. 6But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.Χριστὸς δὲ ὡς υἱὸς ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ⸀ὃς οἶκός ἐσμεν ἡμεῖς ⸀ἐὰν τὴν καὶ τὸ καύχημα τῆς ⸀ἐλπίδος κατάσχωμεν
  7. 7Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,Διό καθὼς λέγει τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον Σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε
  8. 8Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς ἐν τῷ παραπικρασμῷ κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ πειρασμοῦ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ
  9. 9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.οὗ ⸀ἐπείρασαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ⸂ἐν καὶ εἶδον τὰ ἔργα μου
  10. 10Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.ἔτη διὸ προσώχθισα τῇ γενεᾷ ⸀ταύτῃ καὶ εἶπον Ἀεὶ πλανῶνται τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοὶ δὲ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὰς ὁδούς μου
  11. 11So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)ὡς ὤμοσα ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ μου Εἰ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου
  12. 12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.βλέπετε ἀδελφοί μήποτε ἔσται ἔν ὑμῶν καρδία πονηρὰ ἀπιστίας ἐν τῷ ἀπὸ θεοῦ ζῶντος
  13. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.ἀλλὰ παρακαλεῖτε ἑαυτοὺς καθ’ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν οὗ τὸ Σήμερον καλεῖται ἵνα μὴ σκληρυνθῇ ἐξ ὑμῶν⸃ ἀπάτῃ τῆς ἁμαρτίας
  14. 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;μέτοχοι γὰρ ⸂τοῦ Χριστοῦ γεγόναμεν⸃ τὴν ἀρχὴν τῆς ὑποστάσεως τέλους βεβαίαν κατάσχωμεν
  15. 15While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.ἐν τῷ λέγεσθαι Σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε Μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς ἐν τῷ παραπικρασμῷ
  16. 16For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.τίνες γὰρ ἀκούσαντες παρεπίκραναν ἀλλ’ οὐ πάντες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου διὰ
  17. 17But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?τίσιν δὲ προσώχθισεν ἔτη οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ
  18. 18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν
  19. 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.καὶ βλέπομεν ὅτι οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν εἰσελθεῖν δι’ ἀπιστίαν
