- 1Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!ה֚וֹי הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֣ים בְּצִיּ֔וֹן וְהַבֹּטְחִ֖ים בְּהַ֣ר שֹׁמְר֑וֹן נְקֻבֵי֙ רֵאשִׁ֣ית הַגּוֹיִ֔ם וּבָ֥אוּ בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
- 2Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?עִבְר֤וּ כַֽלְנֵה֙ וּרְא֔וּ וּלְכ֥וּ מִשָּׁ֖ם רַבָּ֑ה וּרְד֣וּ גַת פְּלִשְׁתּ֗ים הֲטוֹבִים֙ מִן הַמַּמְלָכ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה אִם רַ֥ב גְּבוּלָ֖ם מִגְּבֻלְכֶֽם

- 10And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

- 14But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.כִּ֡י הִנְנִי֩ מֵקִ֨ים עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל נְאֻם יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י הַצְּבָא֖וֹת גּ֑וֹי וְלָחֲצ֥וּ אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֖ת עַד נַ֥חַל הָעֲרָבָֽה

Amos 6 original-language research
The Hebrew lines shown beneath the KJV text come from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) data in YHWSA. The chapter vocabulary below is ranked from verse-level Strong's tagging; grammatical particles are omitted so meaningful terms remain visible.
a house (in the greatest variation of applications, especially family, etc.)
(the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jeho-vah, Jewish national name of God
(by implication) very widely used as a relative conjunction or adverb (as below); often largely modified by other particles annexed
to say (used with great latitude)
used very widely as demonstrative, lo!; interrogative, whether?; or conditional, if, although; also Oh that!, when; hence, as a negative, not
properly, a cord (as twisted), i.e., (by implication) a boundary; by extension the territory inclosed
a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts
to denude (especially in a disgraceful sense); by implication, to exile (captives being usually stripped); figuratively, to reveal
he will rule as God; Jisraël, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity
gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative
Hebrew verse gematria
YHWSA calculates these totals directly from every consonant in the tagged Hebrew source line using the Carlo Suarès letter-number system; vowel points and cantillation marks do not add values. The totals are not reverse-mapped from English. A matching number is a comparison to investigate, not proof that two passages mean the same thing.
