- 1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.Κἀγὼ ἐλθὼν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἀδελφοί ἦλθον οὐ καθ’ ὑπεροχὴν λόγου ἢ σοφίας καταγγέλλων ὑμῖν τὸ ⸀μαρτύριον τοῦ θεοῦ

- 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:καὶ ὁ λόγος μου καὶ τὸ κήρυγμά μου οὐκ ἐν ⸂πειθοῖ σοφίας⸃ ἀλλ’ ἐν ἀποδείξει πνεύματος καὶ δυνάμεως
- 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.ἵνα ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν μὴ ᾖ ἐν σοφίᾳ ἀνθρώπων ἀλλ’ ἐν δυνάμει θεοῦ
- 6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:Σοφίαν δὲ λαλοῦμεν ἐν τοῖς τελείοις σοφίαν δὲ οὐ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου οὐδὲ τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου τῶν καταργουμένων
- 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:ἀλλὰ λαλοῦμεν ⸂θεοῦ σοφίαν⸃ ἐν μυστηρίῳ τὴν ἀποκεκρυμμένην ἣν προώρισεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς δόξαν ἡμῶν
- 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.ἣν οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου ἔγνωκεν εἰ γὰρ ἔγνωσαν οὐκ ἂν τὸν κύριον τῆς δόξης ἐσταύρωσαν
- 9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.ἀλλὰ καθὼς γέγραπται Ἃ ὀφθαλμὸς οὐκ εἶδεν καὶ οὖς οὐκ ἤκουσεν καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἀνέβη ⸀ὅσα ἡτοίμασεν ὁ θεὸς τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν
- 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.ἡμῖν ⸀γὰρ ⸂ἀπεκάλυψεν ὁ θεὸς⸃ διὰ τοῦ ⸀πνεύματος τὸ γὰρ πνεῦμα πάντα καὶ τὰ βάθη τοῦ θεοῦ

- 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.Ψυχικὸς δὲ ἄνθρωπος οὐ δέχεται τὰ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ θεοῦ μωρία γὰρ αὐτῷ ἐστίν καὶ οὐ δύναται γνῶναι ὅτι πνευματικῶς ἀνακρίνεται
